Ben Merens: for healthcare providers
Ben Merens message is specially suited for:
- Physicians, nurses, and other caregivers.
- Medical and nursing students, including medical educators.
- Residents and presiding doctors.
- Hospital and clinic administrators.
Ben Merens' primary message is that PEOPLE ARE DYING TO BE HEARD, and that one way to provide better heath care is to listen better to yourself, your patients and your colleagues.
Ben has brought his unique message to Residents and their presiding Physicians at Aurora Sinai Hospital and Aurora St. Lukes in Milwaukee, WI as well as to medical students at the Medical School of Wisconsin.
In both cases, the Pre and Post Evaluation studies showed dramatic improvement in listening awareness.
"Healthy communication is a two-way process where listening is the key to success. I firmly believe that people are dying to be heard and this especially applies to the patient-physician relationship. We live in a world full of distractions but I can help you learn how to practice focused listening to block out the "white noise" that easily distracts us. There are three levels of listening I explore along with a discussion about how to listen in the moment. Healthy communication starts with good listening skills, which I hope to give you."
"Thanks for listening!" - Sincerely, Ben
Complementing this message is Ben's insights on what he calls UNI-TASKING. In his audio book Uni-tasking: 25 Tips for Better Listening, he goes into the nuts and bolts of better listening. These specific skills are the "how to" part of PEOPLE ARE DYING TO BE HEARD.
